Project Accountant

Robert Half is partnering with a rapidly growing company delivering large-scale mechanical and building systems projects across commercial and industrial markets. As their project portfolio continues to expand, we are seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to support the financial management of multiple construction projects and ensure accurate project cost tracking and reporting.

Position OverviewThe Project Accountant will work closely with project managers and the finance team to monitor project financial performance, manage job cost reporting, and ensure accurate billing and revenue recognition. This role plays a key part in helping leadership understand project profitability and maintain strong financial controls.

Key ResponsibilitiesManage project accounting functions for multiple HVAC construction projectsTrack job costs, budgets, and project financial performancePrepare and submit progress billings, change orders, and project invoicesMonitor project budgets and perform cost-to-complete and variance analysisReconcile project costs, subcontractor invoices, and purchase ordersSupport accounts payable and accounts receivable processes related to project workAssist project managers with financial forecasting and reportingMaintain accurate project records within the company's accounting or ERP systemSupport month-end close activities related to project accountingEnsure compliance with company policies and construction accounting standards
