Job Description

Affiliates Management Company (AMC) is a wholly owned holding company of the Iowa Credit Union League (ICUL) and its operating companies. AMC provides shared services for a family of companies, including Coopera, First Community Trust, N.A., Iowa Credit Union League, Iowa Credit Union Foundation, PolicyWorks, ViClarity, and CU Digilend. The AMC family of companies strives to improve the financial lives of consumers. We are seeking a full-time Senior Accountant to join our team! This individual will execute and supervise various accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions. Duties may include but are not limited to accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, billing and collections, payroll, and budgeting. This position will be hybrid in Des Moines. What You Will Do Record journal entries, reconcile accounts, and ensure all transactions are accurately reflected in GL and resolve discrepancies. Oversee billing processes, monitor outstanding receivables, and coordinate collections. Collect and analyze financial data in support of forecasts and annual operating budget. Prepare financial documentation for audits and tax preparation. Analyze accounting processes and identify areas for improvement and efficiency. Who YouAre This position requires an individual who is a proactive self-starter possessing a strong foundation in financial reporting and general ledger functions. They will demonstrate progressive growth in their ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and resolve discrepancies effectively. Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as job duties may evolve, requiring the willingness to take on new responsibilities. Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance required. Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on financial reporting and general ledger functions. Knowledge and understanding of basic accounting principles, including GAAP. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, variances, and resolve discrepancies effectively. Experience with accounting software and advanced proficiency in Excel. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
