Job Description

As a Payroll Processor at Cooper Norman, you'll own accurate, on-time payroll processing for multiple clients across a variety of industries, ensure compliance with payroll tax and wage/hour requirements, and help improve the systems and processes that support our clients' financial well-being. Non-Exempt Pay:
$16.00-$22.00 per hour (based on experience)Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (MST) Work setting: In-office, professional office environment What you'll do Process payroll accurately and on time for multiple clients (including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions) Manage payroll updates such as new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes Prepare, maintain, reconcile, and report on payroll records following established practices Support payroll tax processing and filings (e.g., Form 940/941, W-2/W-3, and related forms) Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws (including unemployment and workers' comp reporting) Partner with internal and external stakeholders during audits by providing accurate payroll documentation Spot opportunities to improve payroll systems, software, and procedures—and help implement updates Pitch in on related duties as needed to support client service and team goals What we're looking for High school diploma or GED required 3-5 years of payroll processing experience Working knowledge of general accounting principles; comfortable analyzing financial/payroll data across multiple clients Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) Strong organization, prioritization, and follow-through—able to meet deadlines with high attention to detail Client-service mindset with practical problem-solving and sound judgment Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team Demonstrated discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information Why Cooper Norman Be part of the largest Idaho-based CPA and advisory firm—serving premier businesses and respected business owners nationwide Work with a team of trusted advisors focused on clear guidance, practical tools, and timely insights Make a real impact: your work supports clients' compliance, cash flow, and peace of mind How to apply Apply on Indeed with your latest professional resume.
