Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing various aspects of financial record-keeping, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, experience with multiple financial software systems, and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality. Pay Rate:
$65,000 to $70,00 Yearly.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Duties Prepare, review, and record journal entries, ensuring accuracy in double-entry bookkeeping and adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Reconcile general ledger accounts and perform balance sheet reconciliations to maintain precise financial records. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment issuance, and collections. Utilize financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, or similar platforms for data entry and transaction management. Conduct account analysis using Excel data analysis techniques to identify discrepancies or anomalies. Support month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing necessary reports and documentation. Handle confidential information with integrity while maintaining compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls. Assist with internal audits and external audits by providing relevant documentation and explanations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting activities. Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable management, payroll processing via Kronos or UltiPro, and other financial transactions. Support governmental accounting requirements as needed for compliance purposes. Skills Proven experience in accounting systems such as ADP, Ceridian, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of GAAP, governmental accounting standards, and technical accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills including spreadsheets and Excel data analysis. Familiarity with payroll systems like Kronos or UltiPro is advantageous. Knowledge of financial software such as Paychex, Workday, Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks for efficient data entry and transaction processing. Ability to analyze financial data accurately and perform account reconciliation effectively. Excellent numeracy skills combined with strong attention to detail in bookkeeping tasks. Effective communication skills for customer service interactions and team collaboration. Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining compliance with internal controls such as SOX. Experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environments is preferred.
