Full Job Description Description:
Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing organization. Reporting to the Controller, this role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, supporting month-end close, and assisting with financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to continuous process improvement. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries and perform month-end balance sheet reconciliations Process and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, bank transactions, and credit card activity Ensure proper revenue and expense recognition in accordance with GAAP Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements, budgets, and financial reports Support year-end close activities and assist with external audits and tax preparation Maintain fixed asset records, including asset tracking, disposals, insurance, licensing, and related documentation Monitor capital expenditures and compare actual spending to budget Assist with regulatory filings, including sales and use tax, personal property tax, franchise tax, and other business registrations Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and system efficiencies Maintain accurate financial data within the accounting system and support ongoing technology enhancements Perform special projects and other accounting duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience Master's degree and/or CPA designation is a plus Spanish/English bilingual communication skills are a plus Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close Experience with ERP/accounting software; Acumatica experience is a plus Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Ability to work onsite in a collaborative team environment
