Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to support accounts payable, job cost accounting, reconciliations, accounts receivable, and general accounting functions. This role will work closely with the Controller and provide support for month-end close, financial reporting, vendor management, and construction-related accounting activities.

Responsibilities:

Process and code approximately 100 vendor invoices per week by job and cost category. Maintain subcontractor compliance documentation, including COIs, W-9s, and lien waivers. Prepare and track vendor payments and assist with construction draw documentation. Maintain accurate job cost records and reconcile job cost reports to the general ledger. Assist with budget tracking and variance analysis. Perform approximately 20 monthly bank and credit card reconciliations across multiple entities. Track intercompany transactions and ensure accurate recording. Process deposits and monitor accounts receivable activity, including buyer payments, capital contributions, and HOA collections. Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close activities. Support the Controller with lender reporting and financial package preparation.

Qualifications:

2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, real estate, or a related industry. Strong understanding of accounts payable, reconciliations, job costing, and general accounting principles. Experience working with multiple entities and intercompany transactions. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling high-volume transactions. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
