full-time Senior Accountant - Evanston, IL Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their corporate accounting team in Evanston, IL. This is a fully onsite opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with approximately 5+ years of progressive accounting experience . The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general ledger accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliations. A CPA is preferred/desired .

Responsibilities:

Manage and support the month-end and year-end close process Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations Assist with preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting

Qualifications:

5+ years of progressive accounting experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA preferred/desired Strong understanding of GAAP and corporate accounting Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting Strong Excel skills Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
