Job Description

Overview We are seeking an experienced detail orientated Accountant to manage project accounting, job cost analysis, financial reporting, and compliance for operations. This role will support project managers and leadership by ensuring accurate cost tracking, contract billing, revenue recognition, budgeting and forecasting as needed, and compliance across a multi-state run company. The ideal candidate is organized, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Manage full-cycle accounting for numerous projects, across many states. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements as required Monitor and analyze project job costs, labor, materials, and equipment expenses Prepare and maintain Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules Track project budgets and forecast cost overruns Support project revenue recognition Process oversee billings, payroll, fixed asset and accounts payable as needed. Coordinate with project managers on project financial performance Support external audits and tax preparation Ensure compliance with GAAP accounting standards Managing sales tax compliance across numerous states Assist with cash flow forecasting and project profitability analysis Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as improving accounting procedures and internal controls. Requirements Proven accounting experience with a strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping, financial concepts, and corporate accounting practices. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms; experience with financial software integration is a plus. Quickbase knowledge a definite plus. Analytical and problem solving skills along with good communication skills a must to interpret and present complex data sets. Understanding of job costing, WIP management, prevailing wage, sales tax, supporting multi-state operation. Excellent attention to detail for data entry, invoice processing, account reconciliation, and journal entries. Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining high ethical standards.

$65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
