Responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including auditing, budgeting, control functions, reconciliations, payroll support and other general accounting functions which aid and support the department.
Work closely with the Finance Director, Deputy Finance Director, and Sr. Accountant on special projects and ensure the smooth functioning of financial systems.
Maintain Treasury Management, capital assets and other internal service accounting systems.
Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close, bank reconciliations and balance sheet maintenance.
Assist with annual and long-term budget preparation and document development.
Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual payroll filings. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required.
Three years' accounting and/or auditing experience involving the regular use of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
Experience with accounting and financial reporting for government and knowledge of Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards for governmental accounting strongly preferred.
Knowledge of payroll computations and concepts.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to provide superior customer service.
Detail-oriented with developed analytical skills.
Proficiency with software programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook and enterprise financial and accounting systems.
