Job Description
Job Summary ALIYA Healthcare Consulting is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team. The Senior Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, preparing financial statements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and assisting with process improvements across the accounting function. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to contribute to a dynamic healthcare organization while working closely with leadership on financial reporting and operational initiatives. Responsibilities Prepare, analyze, and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and supporting schedules. Assist with annual audits and regulatory reporting requirements. Prepare and analyze financial reports to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Collaborate with department leaders to address financial issues and improve processes. Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on accounting best practices as needed. Required Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience , preferably in healthcare, consulting, or multi-entity environments. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Experience with financial statement preparation and account reconciliations. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Experience with healthcare accounting and reimbursement environments. CPA candidate or pursuit of advanced accounting certifications. Experience supporting audits and internal control processes.
