Oakton Health Center, a family medicine practice in Skokie, Illinois, is seeking an experienced Russian-speaking Medical Back Office Specialist to support our clinical and administrative operations. This is not a front-desk/receptionist position. We are looking for someone with strong U.S. medical-office experience who can independently handle or coordinate several back-office functions. Responsibilities Process and track medical record requests , including incoming and outgoing records Assist with provider credentialing and recredentialing Process and follow up on specialist referrals Obtain and track prior authorizations (PA) for services, imaging, medications, and specialist care Verify that referrals and authorizations are completed before scheduled services Follow up with insurance companies, specialists, hospitals, and patients Track outstanding referrals, PAs, medical records, and credentialing items to completion Identify cases that are delayed or require escalation Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR Help management monitor referral and PA workflow and ensure that outstanding cases do not fall through the cracks Required Qualifications Fluent Russian —
REQUIRED
Strong spoken and written English Experience working in a U.S. medical practice, hospital, medical group, or healthcare organization Understanding of medical terminology Strong computer and documentation skills Excellent organizational and follow-up skills Ability to manage multiple open cases and deadlines independently Strongly Preferred Experience with medical referrals Experience obtaining insurance prior authorizations Experience with medical records Experience with provider credentialing Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) Experience working with Illinois insurance plans and healthcare systems Familiarity with Advocate Health, Endeavor Health, and Northwestern Medicine referral processes Important Russian fluency is a mandatory requirement for this position. We are looking for someone who is organized, persistent, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of a case from the initial request through completion.
Pay:
$22.00 - $27.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
