Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the general ledger by recording financial activity accurately and ensuring entries are posted within established deadlines.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and other adjustments needed to support monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting cycles.
- Complete reconciliations for bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and other key ledgers, investigating and resolving variances promptly.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and internal reports, providing clear analysis on trends and account activity.
- Support period-end close by organizing schedules, validating balances, and helping ensure reporting is completed on time.
- Review accounting records for consistency with company policies and applicable standards, correcting discrepancies when identified.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis to support operational and management decisions.
- Partner with audit and tax processes by assembling requested documentation and helping address compliance-related reporting needs.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activity as needed to promote accurate cash and transaction reporting.
- Recommend improvements to accounting workflows, internal controls, and documentation practices to strengthen efficiency and accuracy.

- Several years of progressive accounting experience with hands-on exposure to general ledger activity and period-end close.
- Practical experience preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and producing financial statements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with formulas, pivot tables, and financial data analysis.
- Experience using accounting or ERP systems such as Yardi, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or comparable platforms.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with a high degree of accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
