Position Summary:

Under the direction and supervision of the department management, the accountant performs professional accounting work, including analyzing and verifying fiscal records and reports; preparing financial and statistical reports; reconciling general ledger accounts; assists in preparing the annual budget; prepares year-end audit reports and schedules.

Responsibilities:

Performs account analysis and reconciliation; prepares cash report update; maintains spreadsheets/logs; and provides information based upon departmental requests. Gathers appropriate information; creates and updates report; and distributes reports to appropriate department. Maintains fixed asset system; reconciles to general ledger; provides depreciation reports; and maintains capital spreadsheet. Prepares and inputs journal entries; updates supporting schedules; and provides revenue and expense analysis. Assists in the preparation and reporting of the annual budget; maintains detailed budget versus actual capital spreadsheet; and analyzes data for reasonableness. Prepares detailed work papers and assists auditors during fieldwork. Manages difficult issues with a clear head, finding solutions that are most beneficial to all concerned; gathers sufficient information to make an informed decision; and investigates all options and their consequences and makes timely decisions.

Qualifications:

Required:

Has an associate degree in accounting or related field required or five years of previous accounting experience. Needs to be proficient with computer.

Preferred:

Bachelors degree in accounting.

Infection Control:

Initial and Ongoing training in dealing with infection control. Trainings could include, but are not limited to, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids and bio-hazardous materials as it applies to your daily work environment.
