CPA or CPA Track Vistapoint ERP We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing transportation and electrical design organization. This role plays a critical part in supporting the monthly close process , ensuring accurate financial reporting, and managing Accounts Payable (AP) operations. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, experience working in project-based environments, and familiarity with VistaPoint ERP (or similar project-based accounting systems) . Key Responsibilities Month-End Close & Financial Reporting Lead and support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes Prepare and post journal entries , including accruals, prepaids, and allocations Reconcile general ledger accounts , ensuring accuracy and completeness Analyze financial results and investigate variances vs. budget/forecast Assist in preparing internal financial statements and management reports Accounts Payable (AP) Oversight Oversee full-cycle accounts payable processing , including invoice entry, approvals, and payments Ensure proper coding of invoices to projects, cost centers, and GL accounts Manage vendor relationships and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Maintain strong internal controls around AP processes Systems & Process Improvement Utilize VistaPoint ERP (or similar system) for financial management and reporting Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, automation, and controls Assist with system upgrades, implementations, or process enhancements Audit & Compliance Support external audits by preparing schedules and documentation Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies Maintain organized and audit-ready financial records Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of accounting experience , preferably in engineering, construction, or project-based industries Strong understanding of month-end close processes and general accounting principles Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable processing Advanced proficiency in Excel Preferred Experience with VistaPoint ERP (highly preferred) or similar systems (e.g., Deltek, Viewpoint, Sage) Experience in transportation, infrastructure, or electrical design/engineering environments CPA or CPA-track is a plus Familiarity with job costing and project accounting a plus
