Sr Accountant

Description The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing complex accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role partners closely with leadership and may mentor junior accounting staff. Key Responsibilities + Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements + Manage general ledger activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations + Support month-end and year-end close processes + Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and risks + Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities + Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls + Support internal and external audits + Review and improve accounting processes and documentation + Mentor and review work of Staff Accountants (as applicable) + Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and leadership Requirements Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field + 4-7+ years of progressive accounting experience + Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards + Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, etc.) + Experience with month-end close and reconciliations + Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Preferred Qualifications + CPA or CPA-eligible + Experience in public accounting or industry (manufacturing, nonprofit, healthcare, etc.) + ERP system experience (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, etc.) + Prior experience leading or mentoring junior staff Work Environment + Hybrid or onsite depending on business needs + Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with leadership exposure Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
