Job Description Doctors Eye Institute is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accountant to join our team. This position is responsible for day-to-day accounting functions as well as supporting accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, excellent attention to detail, and experience managing general ledger activity, journal entries, account reconciliations, accounts payable, and month-end close. Key Responsibilities Compile and organize data for financial reporting . Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts for accuracy and completeness. Maintain and manage the general ledger . Prepare and post journal entries . Perform account reconciliations . Manage accounts payable including invoice processing, coding, approvals, payments, and recordkeeping. Perform and assist with month-end close . Maintain accurate, complete, and well-organized accounting records. Help identify and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely manner. Assist with additional accounting and bookkeeping responsibilities as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications Education:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred. Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, accounts payable, and month-end closing procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. Experience with Sage "Peachtree" accounting software is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
