Our civil construction capabilities include grading, drainage, subsurface utilities, pile driving, marine construction, and deep foundation work. Our building division operates at scale. We construct commercial, industrial, and government facilities, and we manage large residential construction programs spanning more than 30,000 homes from Hawaii to Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and across the Southeast. When disaster strikes, our emergency response teams offer debris removal, site logistics, haul-and-install operations, and base camp construction, and we stay through recovery. With more than two decades of experience, Dynamic is building the future. Dynamic Group is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Permit Coordinator to manage construction permit applications from initial submission through approval and closeout. You'll work with project managers, contractors, engineers, and local building departments to keep projects moving and documentation accurate. Position Summary The Project Accountant manages the day-to-day financial administration and cost control for large construction projects. This role works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Project Administrators, vendors, subcontractors, and Corporate Accounting to ensure project costs and revenues are accurate and aligned with the budget.
Key Responsibilities Accounts Receivable:
Prepare customer invoices and progress billings, track collections and retainage, monitor past-due accounts, and maintain billing documentation.
Accounts Payable:
Review and code vendor and subcontractor invoices, match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate AP records.
Budget & Cost Control:
Maintain project budgets, track actual and committed costs, monitor budget-to-actual performance, identify variances, and support cost-to-complete forecasting.
Purchasing & Commitments:
Create and maintain purchase orders, verify budget and authorization, track vendor commitments, and monitor major purchases and deposits.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare project financial reports covering revenue, costs, budgets, commitments, billing, collections, forecasts, and projected margins.
Change Orders:
Maintain change-order information and ensure approved changes are reflected in project budgets and commitments.
Month-End Close:
Support accruals, reconciliations, billing reviews, and monthly project financial reporting.
Financial Controls:
Ensure project spending and purchasing follow company policies, approvals, contractual requirements, and documentation standards.
Project Closeout:
Reconcile final costs, commitments, billings, and collections; close outstanding POs; resolve invoices and retainage; and maintain final financial records. Key Working Relationships Collaborates with Project Managers, Superintendents, Project Administrators, Estimating, Corporate Accounting/Finance, vendors, subcontractors, and customers. What We're Looking For Construction or project accounting experience Strong knowledge of AP, AR, billing, job costing, and budgeting Experience with purchase orders, cost coding, and financial reporting Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to identify financial discrepancies and communicate issues proactively Role Objective Provide accurate and timely financial information, maintain control over project costs and commitments, and proactively identify financial risks that could affect project performance.
