Job Description

Southeastern Louisiana University's Department of Accounting and Finance in the College of Business seeks to fill an Assistant or Associate Professor of Accounting position. This position involves teaching undergraduate graduate-level courses in accounting, conducting research, and participating in service to the department, college, and university. All areas of accounting will be considered. The start date for the position is August 2027. Candidates must possess a commitment to teaching and conducting quality research. Candidates must be committed to working with diversity. Both the college and the accounting program are AACSB accredited. The accounting program first achieved supplemental accreditation in 1993. The faculty values collegiality and works well together in a student-focused environment. The program graduates approximately 90 students with a B.S. in Accounting annually. Southeastern Louisiana University is a progressive regional, comprehensive university that enrolls approximately 15,000 graduate and undergraduate students. The University is accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). The University's home, Hammond, LA, is at the crossroads of Interstates 55 and 12 and a part of Louisiana's thriving Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain, the fastest growing region in the state. It is centrally located within an hour's drive of New Orleans, Baton Rouge (the state capitol), and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Hammond affords extensive cultural, recreational, and research opportunities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A terminal degree in accounting from an AACSB accredited program is required. ABD status will be considered. Teaching experience and professional certification in accounting are desired.
