Share Facebook X LinkedIn Email Apply Now US•Plaquemine, LA SUMMARY This position will be responsible for the Fixed Asset accounting for assigned entities within the Performance & Essential Materials (PEM) and Housing and Infrastructure Products (HIP) Segments. Characteristics required in this role include versatility, resourcefulness, and a willingness to accept prominent work assignments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following Perform review, routing, and monitoring all approved AFEs. Identify and process fixed asset related transactions. Perform Fixed Asset functions during monthly close including work order, capital project and WBS settlement, accrual reviews, capitalized interest calculations, depreciation, analyses and reconciliations. Assist with key monthly Fixed Asset reporting to Executives, Accounting and Management on capital spend. Assist with quarterly Fixed Asset reporting to Operating Segments, Financial Reporting and Tax. Assist Accounting Manager and other team members with day-to-day Fixed Asset responsibilities Coordinate and support activities and communications across locations and departments. Manage multiple deadlines and respond quickly to requests. Ensure adherence to and effectiveness of internal control in own area of responsibility. Assist with the facilitation of internal and external audit needs. Perform the primary thinking encompassed by this job description. Comply with all Company policies and procedures. Adhere to established safety practices and maintain an organized, clean and safe work environment, along with a conscious awareness of job safety. Due to limited manpower in the department, a small amount of clerk level duties will be required of this position on a daily or weekly basis. Demonstrates strong safety culture through personal behavior and commitment to environmental, health & safety. Participates in the PACE culture of safety. Other duties, tasks or analyses as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required Entry level with some accounting experience preferred Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and perform meticulous self-review of work product for quality in a dynamic environment. Strong computer skills, with proficiency using standard spreadsheet applications
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
