Job Description
The Senior Accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations and general ledger activities, including complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process. This role is ideal for an experienced accountant who works independently and exercises sound judgment on complex accounting matters. This is a full-time, hybrid position, reporting to the Director of Finance. Essential Duties Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries to the general ledger Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, ensuring deadlines and accuracy standards are met Reconcile and review balance sheet and income statement accounts, resolving complex reconciling items Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed, providing analytics and guidance to the team as needed Support payroll accounting, accruals, and related reconciliations across multiple locations and cost centers Analyze variances and investigate discrepancies, and present findings and recommendations to management Assist with financial statement preparation and supporting schedules, and assist with technical accounting research and memo preparation Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with GAAP Support internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responses to auditor requests Drive process improvement, internal control enhancements, and special projects Support the implementation of new accounting standards and assist with technical accounting research Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or active CPA candidate preferred 5-7 years of accounting experience Strong working knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles Experience with accounting/ERP systems (NetSuite preferred); experience in a multi-entity or multi-location environment preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling preferred) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment, while managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines Must be a self-starter capable of working independently and leading initiatives with minimal supervision Prior experience in healthcare services preferred
