Job Description

Exciting opportunity to work for the area's leading non-profit Community Action agency! Join the Valley Opportunity Council, whose work positively impacts the lives of local residents every day. An immediate opening is available for the Staff Accountant. Tasks may include but it is not limited to billing, account reconciliations, preparing and/or reviewing journal entries including adjusting journal entries, budgeting, cash receipts, preparing bank transfers and assist in the preparation of our annual audit. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in accounting , intermediate Excel skills, working experience with accounting software, and Microsoft Office products; Attention to detail and effective communication in written and oral form. Experience with payroll may be useful but not necessary. We are a multi-funded nonprofit agency, administering various federal, state and local grants.

Retirement plan available through Mutual of America, VOC will contribute 2% of your gross pay. If the employee wishes to contribute through employee deductions, he/she may contribute a minimum of 2% of their pay and the agency will add another 1%.
