Job Description

About the Opportunity A growing professional services company is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for a variety of day-to-day accounting functions while supporting accurate financial reporting and the overall financial operations of the organization. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, comfortable working independently, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities. Prepare and process invoices, payments, deposits, and related accounting records. Perform account and bank reconciliations and assist with maintaining accurate General Ledger records. Prepare and record journal entries as needed. Assist with biweekly payroll processing. Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on past-due balances. Review banking activity and assist with bank transfers and other banking-related activities. Process and track expense reports and corporate credit card activity. Assist with weekly and monthly financial reporting. Assist with month-end and year-end close activities. Assist with budgets, business activity reports, and other financial analyses as requested. Maintain accurate and organized financial records and supporting documentation. Assist with compliance-related accounting activities and reporting. Identify discrepancies and communicate issues in a timely manner. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, efficiency, and accuracy. Work collaboratively with the CFO and other departments as needed. Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. At least 2 years of professional accounting or finance experience required. Hands-on experience with NetSuite is required. QuickBooks experience preferred. Working knowledge of GAAP and basic financial reporting principles. Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, General Ledger functions, and payroll preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and processes. We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, notices when something doesn't look right, follows through on details, and communicates proactively. This person should be comfortable working with financial information, asking questions when needed, and helping the accounting function operate efficiently and accurately.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
