We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing team and support the company's accounting, payroll, billing, and human resources functions. This position reports to the Controller and is based in our Georgetown, Massachusetts office. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work, solving problems, and helping keep the financial side of a busy company running smoothly. What You'll Do Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable Process daily cash receipts, deposits, and customer payments Enter vendor invoices and prepare weekly check runs Reconcile vendor statements, bank accounts, and corporate credit cards Create and close purchase orders and ensure expenses are assigned to the correct jobs Process weekly payroll, employee adjustments, deductions, and payroll accruals Support monthly invoicing, budget billing, and construction progress billing Assist with collections and provide customer statements and invoice documentation Support the monthly financial close process, journal entries, and job-cost reporting Prepare sales and use tax returns and annual 1099 forms Assist with employee onboarding, terminations, benefits, leave administration, and employee changes Provide backup support for the Controller, reception, and other office functions as needed These responsibilities reflect the position's core daily, weekly, and monthly deliverables across accounting, payroll, purchasing, invoicing, and employee administration. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field At least two years of professional accounting or bookkeeping experience Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations Proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and especially Excel Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organization and time-management skills Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience with job-cost accounting, construction billing, or HR administration is a plus Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is a full-time, in-office position located in Georgetown, Massachusetts.
