We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a specialty lending organization in Plymouth, Massachusetts. This Long-term Contract position offers the opportunity to support core accounting functions in a fast-paced environment focused on real estate investor financing. The role blends daily transactional accounting with month-end support and financial reporting, making it ideal for someone who enjoys accuracy, ownership, and hands-on bookkeeping work.

Responsibilities:

Handle day-to-day accounting activities, including maintaining accurate financial records and supporting routine bookkeeping functions. Process a limited volume of vendor invoices and payments while ensuring proper coding and timely completion of accounts payable tasks. Record incoming wire transactions and update accounts receivable balances with precision in a largely manual cash application process. Support the accounting administration of an active loan portfolio by tracking transaction activity and maintaining organized records for ongoing originations. Review and post accounting entries related to approximately 50 monthly client mortgage transactions. Assist with month-end close by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and resolving discrepancies in the general ledger. Contribute to the preparation of internal financial statements and other supporting accounting schedules. Work within QuickBooks Enterprise to manage accounting data and help maintain consistency across financial reporting processes. Previous experience in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role with strong hands-on involvement in daily transactional work. Proficiency with QuickBooks Enterprise and confidence navigating accounting systems in a detail-driven environment. Solid understanding of journal entries, general ledger activity, and account reconciliation procedures. Experience supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close activities. Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return processes. Ability to manage high-accuracy financial work in an environment where transactions are processed primarily by wire. Strong organizational skills and careful attention to detail when handling sensitive financial information.
