Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join a contract opportunity based in Westborough, Massachusetts. This position will play a key role in core accounting operations, helping maintain accurate financial records, support reporting activities, and strengthen day-to-day close processes. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger expertise along with the ability to identify improvements in receivables workflows, reporting, and system-related accounting processes.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead monthly close efforts by preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and ensuring deadlines are met with accuracy
  • Support financial reporting activities and contribute to ongoing general accounting functions across the organization
  • Perform detailed general ledger analysis to resolve discrepancies and maintain the integrity of accounting records
  • Complete bank and account reconciliations while investigating and clearing outstanding items in a timely manner
  • Assess existing accounts receivable procedures and recommend practical enhancements to improve control, efficiency, and reporting visibility
  • Participate in ERP-related upgrades, testing activities, and accounting process improvements as needed
  • Help strengthen AR system functionality by identifying opportunities for better workflows, reporting output, and user effectiveness
  • Create clear process documentation and provide guidance or training to support adoption of updated accounting procedures and tools
