Salary:
$80,000-$90,000/year About the Role The Briarwood Community is hiring a Senior Accountant to join our Finance Team. This is a hands-on role for an experienced accounting professional who works well independently, enjoys digging into the details, and takes pride in bringing accounts to a clean, zero-variance reconciliation. You'll own bank reconciliations, journal entries, payroll-related entries, and general ledger accuracy — while helping support month-end close, audits, and financial reporting for a mission-driven organization. What You'll Do Prepare and complete bank reconciliations to zero variance Research and resolve discrepancies and outstanding reconciling items Prepare, organize, and post journal entries and supporting documentation Prepare weekly payroll-related journal entries Maintain general ledger accounts and supporting schedules Perform account reconciliations and analysis Support month-end and year-end close Assist with accruals, adjusting entries, and other GL transactions Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Support external audits and financial reporting requirements Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred) 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong background in bank and account reconciliations Experience preparing and posting journal entries Payroll accounting experience preferred Solid understanding of GL accounting, month-end close, and GAAP Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP software Healthcare, senior living, nonprofit, or multi-entity accounting experience a plus Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities independently Why Join Us Competitive salary: $80,000-$90,000/year, paid weekly Health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance 401(k) with employer match Paid time off and holidays Meal discounts Employee Assistance Program Free access to our indoor lap pool, fitness center, and sauna Supportive, collaborative work environment with real ownership of your work Our Mission The Briarwood Community enhances the well-being, independence, and personal fulfillment of our residents through high-quality, coordinated housing, health, and supportive services.
