THE POSITION
Our client is seeking a highly skilled, analytical, and solution-driven Senior Accountant to join their growing team. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker and resourceful problem-solver who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about driving financial excellence, efficiency, and profitability. As a senior member of the Accounting team, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and delivering executive-level financial insights that support strategic business decisions. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong leadership abilities, and the capability to build collaborative partnerships across the organization. Key Responsibilities Financial Oversight & Compliance Manage line of credit balances and monitor banking covenants on a monthly and quarterly basis. Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP . Conduct audits of accounting data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective measures. Lead year-end processes in coordination with external CPA firms, including reviewed financial statements and tax returns. Accounting Operations Management Oversee general ledger management, journal entries, and reconciliations for cash, credit, and loan accounts. Supervise and review departmental work, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, cash receipts, refunds, collections, client statements, bank reconciliations, W-2s, and 1099s. Ensure billing and collections are timely and accurate, while maintaining strong vendor relationships. Manage payroll processing and ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies. Budgeting & Strategic Planning Develop, implement, and monitor annual budget plans and processes, including revenue projections, profit margin goals, and variance analysis. Provide executive-level financial reports with actionable insights and key performance metrics to guide leadership decisions. Prepare and present consolidated financial statements. Leadership & Team Development Oversee AR team compliance with SOPs and performance expectations. Conduct semi-annual performance evaluations and provide mentorship to accounting staff. Foster cross-functional collaboration with other departments to ensure cohesive financial support across the business. Banking & Vendor Relations Serve as the primary liaison with banks, auditors, and external vendors. Manage vendor payments through ACH, checks, and credit cards. Review vendor statements and prepare reconciliation reports. Conduct bank reconciliations and manage day-to-day banking activities.
THE CANDIDATE
Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (required). 4+ years of progressive accounting experience with demonstrated expertise in financial operations and reporting in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation. Proficiency in SAP and Paycom preferred. Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and evaluate accounting staff. Highly analytical with exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to senior leadership.
