Staff Accountant

About Nexion Nexion Health Management affiliates operate skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and assisted living facilities across Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. The organization supports strong financial operations and reporting across multiple facilities. Staff Accountant Job Summary The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records for multiple nursing facilities. This role supports month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform full-cycle accounting for 7-9 assigned facilities
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and variance reports
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank accounts
  • Prepare and post general ledger journal entries
  • Generate and reconcile payroll integration files to the general ledger
  • Maintain fixed asset records including additions, disposals, and depreciation
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of assigned accounting functions Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of accounting experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills Work Schedule Monday through Friday at the corporate office for the first 90 days of employment.

After 90 days, the in-effect corporate office schedule will apply.

Compensation and Benefits Salary:

$65,000 per year
