Join a distinguished luxury hospitality organization as a Staff Accountant in Kennebunkport, Maine, and make an impactful contribution every day. In this role, you'll be an essential part of our finance team, supporting precise financial operations across multiple resort locations to ensure smooth daily functions. Collaborate with our accounting department to uphold the highest standards of financial accuracy, integrity, and compliance, all while advancing your professional skills.
What You'll Do:
As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for: Processing daily revenue transactions and performing reconciliations across various properties to maintain accurate and auditable financial records. Conducting daily bank reconciliations following revenue postings to ensure correctness and resolve discrepancies promptly. Supporting general ledger activities, including month-end closings, account reconciliations, and ledger management to ensure financial statements are accurate and timely. Managing Accounts Payable using Ottimate, including reviewing invoices, approving payments, and maintaining vendor records for compliance. Processing AP check runs and verifying invoice accuracy, coding, and timely payments. Establishing and updating vendor records, including W-9 forms, to ensure regulatory compliance. Assisting with year-end 1099 processing and tax filings to ensure adherence to tax regulations. Reconciling Guest Ledger Accounts, Cash Depository Accounts, and Advance Deposit Ledgers to ensure accuracy. Supporting sales and use tax filings for relevant properties in compliance with local regulations. Participating in internal audit procedures, including Site Safe requirements, to maintain operational integrity. Preparing and maintaining detailed financial schedules utilizing systems such as Accumatica, ProfitSword, Stay 'n Touch, Aireus, Toast, and Microsoft Excel.
What You'll Bring:
The ideal candidate will possess: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably within hospitality or multi-entity organizations. Experience with Accounts Payable processes and General Ledger management. Strong reconciliation and analytical skills, with excellent problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP or accounting software systems. Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently, meet deadlines, and maintain high levels of accuracy.
