As an Accounting Intern, you will gain experience through hands-on exposure and support general accounting principles and functions, including various duties within Billing, Credit, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable divisions.Duties/Responsibilities:
Learn about Journal entries with proper supporting detail and support General Ledger Maintenance Learn about monthly close, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgets providing assistance where necessary Learn actual to budget variance analysis and Financial Statements Support to reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts Create customer invoices and exposure to varied billing arrangements Assist with research, correcting billing, inventory, and tax discrepancies Cash application and batch reconciliation Data entry utilizing Excel and Accounting software Assist with special projects as needed Effectively communicate with operational team and management Other duties as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:
Familiarity with GAAP accounting rules, standards, and procedures a plus Prior Internship experience or related past employment a plus but not required Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal Skills with a positive attitude Strong organization Skills Works well in a team environment and as an individual Microsoft Office Proficient (Excel, Word, Outlook), knowledge of accounting software a plus Ability to work prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail is a mustEducation and Experience:
Completion of Junior year at an accredited university in pursuit of a Bachelor Degree with a concentration in Accounting, Business or related field GPA of 3.0 or higher (based on a 4.0 scale) EEO/AABenefits
