GENERAL JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and performing key accounting activities that support accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting across TDI operations. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, managing the monthly close process, preparing and reviewing account reconciliations, analyzing financial activity and ensuring that accounting records accurately reflect the Company's operational and financial activities. The Senior Accountant operates in a government contracting and AS9100-regulated manufacturing environment and is responsible for maintaining accurate, traceable, and audit-ready financial records. The position utilizes Deltek Costpoint and works closely with the VP of Finance, Cost Analyst, PMO, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Quality and other functional areas. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong accounting fundamentals, sound judgement, analytical and problem-soling skills, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage significant accounting responsibilities. Experience in government contracting, Costpoint, manufacturing, aerospace or defense is highly desirable.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Perform daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and cost accounting activities; and provide hands-on support during periods of peak activity or staff absences. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements. Prepare 13-week cash forecast, providing financial input regarding payment timing and adjustments to support effective cash-flow management. Coordinate the month-end closing process, ensuring timely completion of accounting and financial reporting activities. Prepare and review journal entries for accuracy and compliance prior to approval. Support the VP Finance and in the preparation of budgets and indirect rate projections. Provide support related to annual financial audits, preparation of provisional billing rates and other auditor inquiries, as needed. Participate in the preparation of quarterly forecasting, monthly financial reporting and other financial status updates, as needed. Participate in meetings and coordinate ad hoc deliverables to support business operations and organizational objectives. Continuous Improvement Support improvements to financial workflows, reporting, and system utilization Assist in automation and standardization of accounting processes Incorporate lessons learned into accounting practices and controls

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Required Working knowledge of
GAAP, FAR/DFARS, SBA, & GSA
Advanced computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word & PowerPoint Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections Ability to effectively prepare and present financial information and analysis to management Experience supporting accounting and/or finance operations within a government contracting environment, including financial reporting, cost accounting, project accounting and financial forecasting. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and collaborating effectively in a team setting. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and proficiency with financial calculations are required to successfully perform the responsibilities of this position Ability to manage sensitive and export-controlled information (ITAR awareness) Preferred Experience with Deltek Costpoint or a comparable project-based ERP Experience with government travel regulations, including knowledge of allowable and unallowable expenses in accordance with applicable contract requirements Experience in manufacturing, aerospace or defense industry Knowledge of inventory accounting, WIP, standard costing and manufacturing variances Experience supporting DCAA, DCMA, customer, internal or external audits Experience with accounting process automation, reporting tools or data analytics
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger, financial close, account reconciliations and financial reporting
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Primarily office-based with frequent interaction across Finance, Programs and operational functions. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Occasional interaction with production, warehouse and inventory areas Ability to sit, stand, walk and work at a computer for extended periods Ability to perform routine office-related activities and use standard office equipment
