About us Accounting Plus is a bookkeeping, payroll and tax firm in Lincoln Park, Michigan. Most of our clients are small businesses and families who have been with us for years. We're adding a seasonal accountant to our tax team for the 2027 season. The season runs January 4 through April 30, 2027 . It's full time and in person, with overtime available in February and March. If you've prepared tax returns and closed the books behind them, and you want a defined stretch of real work instead of a year-round commitment, this seat was built for you. What you'll do January is when we start the year with closes for our annual clients. You'll take the books to a trial balance that's ready for the return: Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and track down the reconciling items Post year-end entries: accruals, loan principal and interest off an amortization schedule, and depreciation Sort out owner draws, distributions and shareholder loans Tie book payroll to the 941s and W-3 Tie out the equity roll-forward from the prior year Produce comparative balance sheets, P&Ls and depreciation reports February through April is when the real fun begins. Alongside the annual bookkeeping that's still wrapping up, we add tax returns: Prepare individual (1040) and business (1120S and 1065) returns, mostly individual Work each return from source documents to ready-for-review, keeping it moving in our workflow Flag anything that doesn't tie or doesn't make sense What we're looking for 3+ years preparing individual and small business tax returns Hands-on QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop, including closing a set of books Small accounting or tax firm experience is a plus Drake or ProSeries experience preferred You know when to stop and ask instead of plugging a difference A PTIN, or willing to get one before you start (we cover the fee) CPA or EA welcome, not required What we offer $32 - $38 an hour, based on experience Overtime available
