Real Estate Accountant The Glover Agency is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable Accounting & Commission Coordinator to support our financial and real estate transaction operations. This person will be responsible for processing incoming contracts, preparing closings, calculating and distributing agent commissions, and maintaining accurate financial and transaction records. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working with numbers, able to manage multiple deadlines, and committed to accuracy and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities Receive, review, and process incoming purchase agreements and listing contracts Verify that contract information, commission terms, referrals, fees, and agent splits are entered accurately Maintain complete and organized records for all pending and closed transactions Monitor upcoming closings and coordinate with agents, title companies, and internal team members to obtain necessary information Prepare commission disbursement authorizations and closing documentation Calculate agent commissions, company dollar, referral fees, team fees, deductions, and other applicable charges Process agent commission payments accurately and promptly following each closing Confirm that closing funds and commission payments have been received Reconcile transactions and resolve payment or commission discrepancies Record deposits, expenses, payments, and other financial activity Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and supporting documentation Assist with bank and account reconciliations Prepare regular reports related to closings, commissions, revenue, outstanding balances, and agent production Maintain agent payment records and assist with year-end reporting Communicate professionally with agents regarding commission statements, deductions, and payment questions Protect confidential company, client, agent, and financial information Support leadership with additional accounting and financial reporting needs Qualifications Previous bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, commission-processing, or financial administrative experience Real estate transaction or brokerage accounting experience is strongly preferred Strong mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to prioritize multiple transactions and meet time-sensitive deadlines Comfortable learning and working within accounting, transaction-management, and real estate technology platforms Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets QuickBooks experience is preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to handle confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion Willingness to take ownership, identify discrepancies, and follow through until issues are resolved What Success Looks Like Contracts and closings are processed accurately and on time Agents receive the correct commission payments without unnecessary delays Transaction and financial records remain complete, current, and audit-ready Discrepancies are identified and resolved proactively Leadership has reliable reporting and a clear understanding of company financial activity About The Glover Agency The Glover Agency is Michigan's #1 real estate team and the official real estate team of the Detroit Tigers.
