Experienced Staff Accountant (Seasonal Full-Time / Part-Time)Position Summary We are a small, client-focused tax and accounting firm seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team. This position is full-time during tax season (typically February through April) and transitions to a flexible part-time schedule for the remainder of the year, generally averaging 10-20 hours per week. Responsibilities Manage and maintain client accounting records using QuickBooks with a high level of proficiency. Review, analyze, and clean up QuickBooks data to ensure accuracy and completeness. Perform bank account and credit card account reconciliations. Process after-the-fact payroll and prepare related quarterly payroll reports. Prepare annual W-2 and 1099 forms. Work extensively with Thomson Reuters software, including Accounting CS, FileCabinet, and UltraTax. Import, review, interpret, and validate accounting data received from clients within accounting software. Analyze imported client accounting data, identify discrepancies, and make appropriate corrections. Communicate professionally with clients to gather information, answer questions, and resolve accounting issues. Assist with other accounting and bookkeeping responsibilities as needed to support the firm's clients. Qualifications Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Staff Accountant in a public accounting, tax, or CPA firm. Demonstrated experience working in an accounting and tax office environment. Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, including account reconciliations, data cleanup, and financial statement preparation. Experience using Thomson Reuters software (or other accounting software), including Accounting CS, FileCabinet CS, and UltraTax CS, is strongly preferred. Experience preparing W-2s, 1099s, and quarterly payroll reports. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Highly organized, self-motivated, and dependable. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
