Ledgent Finance and Accounting has a well established manufacturing partner located near the bloomington mn area needing to add to their senior accounting team!
Pay:
$105,000-$125,000/yr Mon-Fri 8am-5pm Full Benefits, PTO, 401k match and more! Key Responsibilities Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations. Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial accuracy. Analyze financial data and investigate variances to support management decision-making. Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting controls. Monitor project budgets, costs, revenue recognition, and gross profit margins. Oversee backlog reporting and identify billing opportunities or discrepancies. Serve as the lead accounting resource for managers, operations teams, sales teams, and leadership. Review vendor invoices and resolve billing discrepancies, overbillings, and cost allocation issues. Provide guidance on accounting processes and best practices. Support process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and financial accuracy. Assist with training and mentoring junior accounting staff as needed. Analyze project and company financial performance metrics. Review accruals and gross profit adjustments related to commission calculations and reporting. Ensure proper coding and classification of expenses and revenues. Participate in audit preparation and documentation requests. Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting controls and streamline workflows. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 8+ years of accounting experience, preferably with project, construction, manufacturing, or contract-based environments.
Strong understanding of:
General Ledger Accounting Month-End Close Account Reconciliations Accrual Accounting Experience with ERP systems such as Sage Intacct, Yardi, Spectrum, Dynamics AX, Great Plains, or similar. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
