Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support financial operations for healthcare communities in Minnetonka, Minnesota. This is a Contract position focused on delivering accurate month-end close activities, financial reporting, and reconciliations in a deadline-driven environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong general ledger expertise, sound analytical judgment, and the ability to produce compliant financial information for internal and external reporting needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage monthly close activities by recording journal entries and maintaining accurate general ledger balances for assigned communities.
  • Reconcile ledger accounts and assemble supporting schedules that substantiate month-end financial results.
  • Perform bank account reconciliations, investigate differences, and record adjusting entries when necessary.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements on schedule while aligning reporting with applicable accounting standards.
  • Analyze account activity to identify unusual fluctuations, resolve discrepancies, and address accounting issues promptly.
  • Review expense coding before accounts payable posting to help ensure transactions are classified correctly.
  • Generate recurring and ad hoc financial reports, including variance analysis, labor and payroll reporting, compliance-related reporting, and capital spending summaries.
  • Contribute financial data and analysis for annual budgeting activities across managed communities.
  • Compile documentation required for cost reports, tax filing support, sales and use tax submissions, and annual external audits.
