Full-Time | Exempt | On-Site | St. Paul, MN About the Opportunity Our client is a growing product-based company in St. Paul, MN seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join their team. The company designs, manufactures, and distributes innovative products to professional customers nationwide and offers a collaborative, fast-paced environment where employees have the opportunity to make an impact. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional who wants to gain broad, hands-on accounting experience and grow their career as the organization continues to expand. Position Summary The Staff Accountant will play an important role in keeping day-to-day financial operations accurate, organized, and running smoothly. This position will work across the accounting cycle, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, general ledger activity, fixed assets, financial reporting, and month-end/year-end close. You'll work closely with other departments throughout the organization, giving you exposure to multiple areas of the business and an opportunity to expand your accounting knowledge and responsibilities over time. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities
  • Record and reconcile employee expense submissions
  • Prepare daily and weekly general ledger entries
  • Perform account and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Maintain sales tax exemption documentation
  • Provide financial support and analysis related to customer orders
  • Assist with the financial processing of product returns
  • Support month-end and year-end close
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
  • Maintain fixed asset records and related accounting
  • Assist with financial and business reporting
  • Support the annual year-end audit
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and efficiencies
  • Assist with additional accounting projects as the company continues to grow
Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet daily and monthly deadlines
  • Self-directed, dependable, and comfortable taking ownership of responsibilities
Preferred:
  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience working in an eCommerce, distribution, manufacturing, or product-based environment
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
  • Experience with third-party sales tax reporting systems Why Join?
