As we continue to grow, we are strengthening our Accounting and Finance function and seeking an experienced Senior Accountant who can take ownership of treasury activities while providing strong accounting support across the organization. Position Summary The Senior Accountant - Treasury & Accounting role is a key member of the Accounting and Finance team responsible for managing day-to-day treasury and cash management activities while supporting general ledger accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, accruals, financial reporting, and other accounting functions. Treasury will serve as the primary area of responsibility for this position, with the Senior Accountant also providing accounting and Accounts Payable support and backup coverage as needed. The role requires a hands-on accounting professional with strong technical accounting knowledge, advanced Excel capabilities, and the ability to independently analyze financial information, identify discrepancies, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. As Alliance Energy Services continues to grow, this position is expected to take on increasing responsibility within the Accounting and Finance function. Key Responsibilities Treasury & Cash Management Own and manage day-to-day treasury activities and cash management processes. Monitor daily cash positions and assist with ensuring adequate liquidity to support business operations. Prepare and maintain cash reporting, treasury schedules, and related financial information. Coordinate and process cash payments and other treasury transactions. Perform bank and treasury-related account reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are researched and resolved timely. Maintain accurate documentation and supporting records for treasury transactions. Assist with banking relationships, account administration, and other banking activities as assigned. Support cash forecasting and analysis to assist Accounting and Finance leadership with cash management decisions. Identify opportunities to strengthen treasury processes, controls, reporting, and efficiencies. Serve as the primary resource for assigned treasury responsibilities while providing and receiving backup coverage across the Accounting team. General Ledger & Accounting Prepare and post general ledger journal entries in accordance with established accounting procedures. Perform general ledger and balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items timely. Prepare and record accruals, reclassifications, and other month-end accounting adjustments. Maintain accurate supporting schedules and documentation for assigned accounts. Review general ledger activity for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate accounting treatment. Research accounting discrepancies and work with appropriate internal resources to resolve identified issues. Support the accuracy and integrity of the Company's financial records and general ledger. Provide backup support for other accounting functions as needed to maintain continuity within the department. Month-End Close & Financial Reporting Perform assigned responsibilities as part of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. Prepare journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules in accordance with established close deadlines. Assist with financial reporting, account analysis, and variance analysis. Review financial activity to identify unusual transactions, discrepancies, or trends requiring additional analysis. Communicate accounting issues and significant findings to Accounting and Finance leadership. Support internal and external audits by preparing requested schedules, reconciliations, documentation, and account support. Assist with improving and streamlining month-end close procedures and reporting processes. Accounts Payable & Accounting Support Provide support and backup coverage for Accounts Payable activities as needed. Assist with reviewing invoices, coding, payments, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness. Support payment processing and ensure transactions are appropriately recorded within the general ledger. Research and resolve vendor, payment, coding, and reconciliation discrepancies. Partner with other members of the Accounting team to ensure appropriate cross-training and backup coverage for critical accounting functions. Work cross-functionally with departments throughout the organization to resolve accounting and payment-related questions. Financial Analysis, Excel & Process Improvement Develop and maintain advanced Excel spreadsheets used for treasury, accounting, reconciliations, reporting, and financial analysis. Utilize advanced Excel functionality including XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIF/SUMIFS, PivotTables, advanced formulas, and data analysis tools. Analyze large and complex data sets to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for improvement. Develop and maintain spreadsheets and reporting tools that improve visibility into cash and accounting activity. Identify opportunities to automate or streamline manual accounting processes and reporting. Assist with documenting accounting procedures, internal controls, and standard work processes. Participate in Accounting and Finance projects and initiatives as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger and month-end close responsibilities. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and fundamental accounting concepts. Demonstrated experience preparing journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules. Treasury, cash management, or banking experience strongly preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIF/SUMIFS, and advanced formulas. Experience working with accounting, financial reporting, or ERP systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently research and resolve discrepancies. High attention to detail and demonstrated commitment to accuracy and data integrity. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet established deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential financial and Company information with discretion and professionalism. Experience working within a multi-entity organization preferred. Experience supporting Accounts Payable functions preferred. CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred but not required.
