Job Summary:
The Assistant Accountant will perform a variety of accounting tasks with a focus on accounts payable and merchant processing.
Principle Responsibilities:
Receives and verifies expense reports; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records. Oversees the full-cycle accounts payable process, including vendor payments, invoice management, discrepancy resolution, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions. Responsible for monitoring, disputing, and resolving chargebacks to recover revenue and minimize financial losses. Supports internal and external financial audits by providing accurate records, documentation, reconciliations, and timely resolution of any audit inquiries.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail. Service oriented and ability to collaborate with a team. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software; strong knowledge of Excel. Ability to learn and work within various software; knowledge of NetSuite/enterprise software and Salesforce CRM preferred.
Work Experience:
1-2 year's experience in accounting/finance or commensurate combination of education and experience.
Training and Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, or commensurate experience.
