Who are we? We are ARCO , a Family of Construction Companies. We are looking for a dynamic Staff Accountant to join our team in our Kansas City, MO office. You will work closely with our Controller and many different teams.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
+ Assist controller team in reconciling all month end reports to the general ledger. + Assist in preparing and monitoring budgets. + Design and build Microsoft Excel based pivot tables. + Assist in reconciling bank accounts on a monthly basis + Work positive pay exceptions daily + Process expense report postings daily + Assist in intercompany cash reconciliations on a bi-weekly basis + Assist controller teams with a variety of ad hoc requests as they arise + Assist in creating and verifying reporting provided quarterly to various stakeholders + Work with controllers on various aspects of month end close and the preparation of financial statements for multiple entities.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 1-3 years' of related experience. + Public accounting experience a plus. + General knowledge of payroll concepts and tax withholdings. + Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically needing advanced skills with Microsoft Excel. + Experience with Viewpoint Software or an equivalent ERP system. + Excellent written and spoken communication skills. + Must be detail oriented and able to work under pressure and strict deadlines.
