Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a growing finance team. This role supports the Controller and Senior Accountant with daily accounting operations, month-end close activities, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and audit preparation. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent Excel skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Key Responsibilities Complete daily banking activities and related account reconciliations. Assist with the preparation and completion of monthly financial statements. Prepare and post monthly general ledger journal entries, including accruals and prepaid expenses. Maintain a thorough understanding of the general ledger structure and financial reporting processes. Process and reconcile intercompany transactions. Prepare schedules, supporting documentation, and explanations for the annual audit. Support accounts payable activities, including processing invoices and other A/P transactions. Support accounts receivable functions, including cash application and customer account maintenance. Respond to financial information requests from leadership and provide timely, accurate reporting support. Assist with account analysis, reconciliations, and resolution of discrepancies. Perform additional accounting, financial, and administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. Up to 2 years of accounting experience required; internships or relevant entry-level accounting experience may be considered. Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles and general ledger processes. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with
VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
functions, PivotTables, formulas, and data analysis. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work effectively under deadlines, and maintain organized records. Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills. Collaborative, dependable team player with a willingness to assist wherever needed. Preferred Qualifications Experience processing or reconciling intercompany transactions. Experience with QuickBooks, AS400, or similar accounting/ERP systems. Prior exposure to the transportation, logistics, trucking, or related industries. Experience supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, or month-end close processes.
Pay:
$55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
