Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure financial activity is recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain the general ledger by reviewing account activity, resolving discrepancies, and supporting month-end close processes.
- Assist with corporate tax activities, including compiling information needed for filings and supporting tax return preparation.
- Manage sales tax-related tasks by reviewing transactions, reconciling data, and helping ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
- Analyze financial records and supporting documentation to improve accuracy and strengthen reporting reliability.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to gather accounting information, answer questions, and support routine financial operations.
- Reconcile accounts on a regular basis and investigate variances to keep balances complete and accurate. Requirements
- Experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role.
- Working knowledge of corporate tax principles and exposure to corporate tax return support.
- Hands-on experience with sales tax processing, review, or reconciliation.
- Strong understanding of journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Ability to organize financial information accurately and meet deadlines in a Contract assignment.
- Proficiency with standard accounting systems and spreadsheet-based analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.
