Job Description The Staff Accountant-Grants monitors and audits financial records and transactions for restricted grant funds. Receives and maintains approved budgets for restricted grant awards; prepare journal entries and post transactions to general ledger; prepare reimbursement requests and prepare interim reports. Receives copies of approved budgets for restricted grant awards and maintain files for each award. Review and audit financial transactions posted to restricted grant revenue and expenditure accounts. Determines amount of applicable indirect costs. Prepares journal entries to charge indirect costs and correction of errors. Post transactions to the general ledger after approval by the Director of Accounting and Budgeting. Prepare reimbursement requests and interim reports for expenditures as required by Grant Agencies. Occasional monitoring and training of student employees as departmental activities may require on a project-by-project basis. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other business-related field and accounting experience. Ability to handle multiple tasks. Proficient in working with accounting systems and office systems such as Microsoft Office. Ability to pay attention to detail and accuracy. Knowledge of bookkeeping and recordkeeping. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Good oral and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills.
