Description Description We are looking for an aplished Sr. Accountant to join a team in Great Falls, Montana on a Long-term Hybrid Contract assignment. This opportunity is well suited for a hands-on, detail-oriented accounting specialist who can bring structure toplex financial records, investigate inconsistencies, and help strengthen the accuracy of day-to-day accounting activity. The role will focus on detailed cleanup efforts, reconciliation work, and targeted projects that support reliable, audit-ready reporting. Responsibilities Reconcile balance sheet and bank accounts, investigate variances, and clear outstanding items in a timely manner. Review historical general ledger activity, correct inaccurate postings, and help restore accuracy across financial records. Analyze aging balances and unresolved accounting items to determine appropriate corrections and supporting entries. Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, and other adjustments needed to support accurate reporting. Support month-end close activities bypleting account analysis and resolving issues affecting period-end results. Examine accounts payable, accounts receivable, and related transactions to confirmpleteness and accuracy. Detect duplicate entries, posting errors, and control weaknesses, then rmend practical improvements to reduce future issues. Maintain organized supporting documentation and strengthen recordkeeping practices for audit andpliance needs. Contribute to special accounting assignments and backlog reduction efforts while partnering with leadership on priority initiatives. Requirements - At least 5 years of accounting experience, including work in a Senior Accountant or similarly advanced role. Strong background in general ledger maintenance, account reconciliation, and financial cleanup activities. Proven ability to manage month-end close tasks and support accurate financial statement preparation. Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze data, identify issues, and support reconciliations efficiently. Experience researching discrepancies independently and determining appropriate accounting treatment. High level of accuracy, organization, and problem-solving ability in deadline-driven environments. Comfortable stepping into situations that require process improvement, record cleanup, and detailed investigative work. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
