Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations for a healthcare organization in Asheville, North Carolina. This role will oversee critical close activities, maintain the accuracy of financial records, and help ensure timely reporting across key accounts. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to manage reconciliations and journal activity with precision.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead monthly close activities by preparing schedules, reviewing account activity, and helping ensure financial deadlines are met.
  • Maintain the general ledger by recording, reviewing, and validating financial transactions for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate support and alignment to accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Perform account reconciliations on a recurring basis, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Complete bank reconciliations by comparing statements to internal records and researching outstanding items.
  • Analyze financial data across balance sheet and income statement accounts to identify unusual trends or posting errors.
  • Support audit readiness by organizing documentation and maintaining clear records for reconciliations and entry support.
