Job Description

Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for daily cash monitoring, weekly finance reports, assist with forecasting and budgeting, cost accounting initiatives, and general month-end close activities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Daily bank account monitoring, reconciliation, and related reporting Tracking of daily/weekly sales to help monitor revenue risk and opportunities Prepare journal entries and G/L account reconciliations during month end close Track key operating costs including scrap, freight, and overtime Identify and recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance operating efficiency Assist with the annual audit and prepare documentation for external auditors Participate in annual/periodic physical inventory counts Assist with cost accounting initiatives including the updating of costing models Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong analytical and problem-solving ability Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); strong Excel skills highly preferred Team player, flexible, with excellent interpersonal skills Prior experience with a manufacturing company highly preferred Independent, takes initiative, and able to work under pressure
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance Three years of accounting experience Public accounting experience a plus Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred NetSuite ERP experience a plus
