Job Description

Reporting to the Controller, this position is required to provide efficient clerical support while processing, verifying, and reconciling supplier invoices, generating customer invoices and statements, reconciling accounts, and posting to the general ledger and maintaining accounting records based on standard accounting practices. Role and Responsibilities Process supplier invoices daily. Match all invoices to packing slips and purchase orders. Verify pricing of supplier invoice against purchase order and quantity of invoice against receiving documentation. Resolve discrepancies between supplier invoices and purchase orders in a timely manner. Follow up with suppliers promptly as needed. Process customer invoices daily. Reconcile incoming customer payments to open invoices. Follow up on customer requests promptly as needed. Set up new suppliers and customers in ERP system as needed. Submit sales & use tax reports and payments. Monitor aging accounts payable and accounts receivable balances, follow up with customers on past due payments and regularly report to Controller. Various month end duties completed by assigned deadline. Assist with Physical Inventory Counts. Support year end audit process. Ability to maintain accuracy in financial records while demonstrating attention to detail. Ability to solve discrepancies in account data. Assist others to complete routine tasks and work collaboratively. Ability to learn additional functionality in the ERP system, work procedures and expand financial knowledge in areas. Review accounting discrepancies with appropriate department. Perform related clerical duties. Other duties assigned as needed. Desired Characteristics The successful candidate will need to demonstrate on a sustained basis in their employment the following: Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service, organizational and analytical skills. Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines. Ability to work independently and in a team. Credentials 2-year Technical Accounting Degree or equivalent education with combination of previous work experience. 4-year Accounting or Business Degree preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience within a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
