Who are you? The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, tech-savvy, proactive individual who excels in Microsoft Excel, including automation tools like VBA, and are skilled at optimizing spreadsheets. You have strong analytical and communication skills that enable you to collaborate effectively with the finance team, ensuring accurate financial data and providing training on new functionalities. Qualifications likely required to be successful in this role include: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship.. Certifications in automation or financial systems are a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet software Student should have minimum GPA of 2.75 Proficiency in automation tools (such as Power BI) Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Attention to detail Basic understanding of accounting principles Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Experience with spreadsheet automation tools (e.g., VBA, Google Sheets scripts, Excel macros, Python for data analysis) is a plus Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company's growth. What you will do As an
Intern:
Accounting Analyst, you will focus on automation & optimization and aim to improve the efficiency and accuracy of financial data management.Main areas of responsibility include:
Spreadsheet Optimization:
Review and update existing spreadsheets to enhance functionality and user-friendliness.Data Entry:
Accurately input financial data into spreadsheets and databases.Automation:
Implement formulas, macros, and other automation tools to streamline repetitive tasks. Collaborate with colleagues regarding Power BI dashboard development and modification.Documentation:
Maintain detailed documentation, including spreadsheet changes and improvements.Collaboration:
Work with the finance & automation team to understand their needs and develop customized spreadsheet solutions.Training:
Provide training to staff on new spreadsheet functionalities, Power BI reports usage and best practices.Quality Assurance:
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data within spreadsheets.Support:
Assist with other tasks as needed, such as user acceptance testing, data mapping, and data entry activities for special projects.
