Controller Summary:
The Accountant I is an entry-level accounting professional responsible for supporting the accounting department by maintaining financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities. This role works under the supervision of senior accountants.Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close.
- Prepare financial reports, schedules, and account analyses.
- Assist with audits by providing requested information.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Support special projects and other accounting duties as assigned.
- Monthly sales & tax reporting.
- Prepare governmental surveys required by law.
- Return W-9 request and other A/R aging requests from customers.
- Conduct regular account analysis to identify variances and discrepancies.
- Cost monthly inventory.
- Assist with regular cycle counts of inventory items.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules.
