We appreciate creativity and ingenuity above all else. And since small business owners are among the most creative people on the planet, it's no surprise that their creativity inspired us to create a new type of accounting firm. Our mission is to make sure that every business owner has access to the financial and accounting help they need, not what traditional firms say they should have. We give small business the best financial and accounting expertise available at prices they can afford, so they have the confidence to go out and change the world! So what do we do for our clients? Well, first and foremost we build accounting departments from the ground up. We clean up the books, institute internal controls, train the current staff, develop custom reporting, hold strategy sessions with the owners and much, much more. And we do all of it for about half of what a full time controller would cost. What about culture? Well, ours emphasizes growth, both personally and professionally. Our clients are always challenging us with new opportunities to help them, so we need to constantly learn and evolve in order to serve them. What we do for our clients has real world ramifications for real world people, and we take that responsibility seriously. As for ourselves, well we take ourselves slightly less seriously... Now that you know what we do, here's what we're looking for: We are hiring a senior-level staff accountant that is not afraid to be creative and to innovate. Please don't apply if you're someone who needs to follow a script or enjoys doing the same type of work every day. Sure, we have processes and procedures like any accounting firm, but your job will not be to follow them, it will be to improve them. The position will require someone who is driven to provide results for his/her client. This is a fast-paced firm. We don't bill by the hour, so if you're someone who really likes to take their time this isn't the place for you. However, if you like making a real difference for your clients, you'll fit right in.
Some specific responsibilities include:
Reviewing source documents such as bank and credit card statements Entering source data into QuickBooks Online Reconciling accounts in QuickBooks Online Preparing client reports and statements Entering and reviewing payroll A well-qualified candidate will be familiar with QuickBooks Online, have experience with payroll, be very proficient with Microsoft Office, and be comfortable with technology (including Microsoft Teams and various other web-based applications). Finally, while this is a Staff Accountant Position, the ideal candidate will not be happy in this position long term. We have a training curriculum available and advancement happens as quickly as you can show competence. If you are interested in this position please submit your resume and cover letter by March 19, 2025, please do not inquire directly. Also, if you are not currently residing in Wilmington please be sure to include your timeline in your cover letter. Thanks and have a great day!
